Juvederm is an injectable facial filler used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, particularly around the nose and the mouth. The first smooth consistency gel to be approved by the FDA, the dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid and last up to one year. Hyaluronic acid can absorb up to 100 times its own weight in water, which causes it to add new volume under sagging skin. Hyaluronic acid also binds with collagen and elastin to increase the flow of basic nutrients into the skin.
